Greetings Geniuses! Please welcome to the Genius is Common Movement Carlos Prillman Founder & President Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association, Inc. Carlos is a member of the Genius is Common Movement.
Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Prince George’s County, MD. I graduated from Fairmont Heights High School in 1987. As a student, I participated in the football program for four years (Co-Captain as a junior and senior), J.R.O.T.C. for three years (Top ranking officer as a sophomore, junior & senior), ran track for two years, and was a member of the National Honor Society during my junior & senior years (President as a senior). I attended the University of Maryland at College Park, majoring in pre-journalism.
After 15 years of years retail management working for the largest athletic shoe company and largest rental car company in the world, I eventually decided to pursue a career in financial services. I’m currently a branch manager for one of the top five banks in the world. I also have had the opportunity since 2022 to participate in a weekly podcast by Gary Johnson Media called “The Thought Brothers”.
I founded the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association, Inc. and Hall of Fame in 2021. This was made possible with the partnership of several football alumni. This organization is dedicated to Coach Ralph Paden and all of the people who made our football program, high school, and community great! As the organization’s President, our current mission is to promote excellence on and off the field so student-athletes can excel in life. We are currently achieving this by doing the following:
-We’ve established a football hall of fame ceremony, where we honor outstanding athletes who have left an indelible mark on our school’s history.
-We’ve forged a strong network of football alumni, connecting past and present players to foster support and camaraderie.
-We’ve created a permanent hall of fame showcase at Fairmont Heights High School, preserving our rich football legacy for generations to come.
-Our website features a Hall of Fame yearbook, chronicling the achievements and stories of our esteemed athletes.
-We’re proud to support academic excellence through scholarships awarded to deserving football players.
-We’ve provided essential gear like game and practice uniforms, helmets, and pre-game meals, boosting team morale.
-We’ve enhanced the game day experience with team and American flags, instilling pride and unity in our community.
-We’ve provided championship banners for football, basketball, and track & field which now proudly adorn our gymnasium, celebrating the triumphs of our athletes.
-We’ve provided a press box stadium sign with Coach Ralph Paden’s name that stands as a testament to his enduring legacy and impact on our school. But our impact extends beyond the football field. We’ve established the Ralph C. Paden Man of the Year Award for community service, recognizing individuals who exemplify the spirit of giving back. We’ve supported various school initiatives, from PBIS to the Hornet Honors ceremony, Community Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week, demonstrating our commitment to the broader educational community. And through financial support for school uniforms and supplies, we’ve ensured that every student has the tools they need to succeed.
Together, we are not just celebrating the victories of the past, but laying the foundation for an even brighter future at Fairmont Heights High School. Go Hornets!
